In all solid-state batteries, the interface contact loss is one of the bottle necks that limits its applications. During cycling, the intercalation/deintercalation of Li ions causes the volume change of active materials. Due to the weak solid-solid contact, debonding tends to occur at solid electrolyte-cathode interfaces. After cycling, this damage will lead to mechanical degradation and decrepitation of the batteries. In this study, blended NMC811-LCO was used as an active material for the cathode. [1] we suggest the LCO:NMC811 blended electrode. The validation of beneficial effect of LCO will be reported first. Next, we evaluated the position effect of the blended materials. With same fraction of NMC (i.e. 0.71), when LCO is located near anode side the battery performance is much better than the near current side. This study provides an insight into mechanisms of interface contact loss when using blended cathode of all solid-state battery. From practical point of view, locating NMC near current collector not only enhance battery performance but also is reachable for mass production.
